The PEAK Program at BAMS:

  • is a small, alternative group setting that focuses on transferable/social skills as well as academic and literacy skills;

  • creates a stimulating and active environment with an interdisciplinary curriculum which fosters a passion for learning;

  • embeds academic content in project based learning through opportunities for real world application and career exploration;

  • focuses on teamwork and collaboration;

  • is an opportunity for individualized learning that can be experiential and community based;

  • is an inclusive environment;

  • enables frequent communication with studentsā€™ parents/guardians; and

  • provides opportunities to enhance self-esteem, self-reliance, and self-advocacy with the goal of high school completion.
